I had the opportunity to do a six-month internship at Cambridge CARES in Singapore in pursuit of my master’s thesis, which was very enriching. I was part of the super exciting and rapidly growing Accelerated Manufacturing Platform for Engineered Nanomaterials (AMPLE) project. Under the expert guidance of Dr Nicholas José and Dr Mohammed Jeraal, I had the opportunity to work on the frontiers of Bayesian optimisation algorithms.

In addition to that, I also gained invaluable experience in conducting high-throughput experiments for nanomaterial synthesis and optimising the morphology of zinc oxide nanocrystals.

My time in Singapore was immensely rewarding and I really learned a ton. I can wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone looking to deepen their expertise in experimental techniques and active machine learning. It has been a really cool and collaborative environment.
