The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Fellowship represents the UK’s best engineering researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, business, and industry leaders. Fellows are typically elected each year in recognition of their outstanding and continuing contributions to the profession.

CARES would like to congratulate Prof Markus Kraft for being recognised as a leading global expert in the computational modelling of combustion phenomena and particle formation, and in the field of knowledge engineering.

Prof Kraft is the inaugural Director of CARES, the University of Cambridge’s research laboratory in Singapore. He has contributed as lead PI to various projects over the last 11 years such as the Centre for Carbon Reduction in Chemical Technologies (C4T), eCO2EP: A Chemical Energy Storage Technology, and Cities Knowledge Graph.

“I am truly grateful for this prestigious recognition from The Royal Academy of Engineering. It is a testament to the efforts of my research group and the companies CMCL and CMPG, with which I have been closely involved. Over the years, we have progressively explored new frontiers in combustion, particle research, and computational modelling. This work has culminated in our interdisciplinary initiative, The World Avatar project, which aims to address interoperability challenges in the digitalisation space.”
