Olivia LEE
Communications and External Affairs Manager
Olivia graduated from James Cook University in Townsville with a Bachelor of Marine Science. She worked in the aquaculture industry as a Broodstock Technician in Australia at a grouper fingerling production facility before moving to Singapore. After doing freelance writing work for close to a year, she joined CARES as a Communications & External Affairs Executive in 2022 and was promoted to a Manager in 2024.
In this role, Olivia has managed the coordination of scientific report writing, branding, external communications, and events planning for the centre. She has also had the opportunity to work with different Cambridge departments such as Admissions, Gates Cambridge, and the Development & Alumni Relations on several joint activities in Singapore.
In 2023, She managed the end-to-end event planning of the CARES 10th Anniversary Scientific Showcase at Shaw Foundation Alumni House and the following evening reception at the British High Commissioner's Residence. The event produced two pieces of creative work: a story and a video about CARES. In 2024, she led the logistics and programme planning of DPM Heng Swee Keat’s visit and meeting with CARES.
