Oliver FRANCIS

Specialist Collaborator

Oliver Francis leads on communications and knowledge exchange for the MRC Epidemiology Unit at the University of Cambridge. He is responsible for traditional and social media outputs and works to promote dialogue between researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and other groups. He teaches evidence communications and policy engagement skills on the Cambridge Population Health Sciences MPhil. His work transforming the impact strategies at the MRC Epidemiology Unit and Centre for Diet and Activity Research (CEDAR) was recognised by the University of Cambridge Professional Services Impact Award in 2019. Before moving to Cambridge, Oliver was based in the press office at Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust for several years, where he worked across several communications disciplines: press and PR, stakeholder relations, internal communications, web and social media. He has also worked for NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, as a researcher for television documentaries, and continues to work as a freelance writer and novelist.
